Psycho-Oncology

Why Psycho-Oncology?

Cancer care is not just medical. How you feel, what you think, how you make sense of what’s happening — all these shape how you cope and heal. Psycho-oncology brings together psychology and cancer care, acknowledging that your mental and emotional wellbeing deserve the same care as your physical health.

A cancer diagnosis changes life in ways no one can fully prepare for — not just for the person diagnosed, but for their loved ones too. The psycho-oncology services are here to help you navigate the emotional, social, and psychological challenges that often come with cancer and its treatment.

We provide our services to adults aged 21 and over, offering a space where your feelings, fears, hopes and uncertainties can be spoken about openly — without judgement. Together, we make sense of what’s happening, at your pace.

What We Offer

Individual Support
One-to-one online sessions to help you cope with anxiety, depression, adjustment, fear of recurrence, body image concerns, or the impact of treatment on your relationships and daily life.

Family and Caregiver Support
Cancer doesn’t just happen to one person. Partners, family, friends — you may also need a place to talk through what this means for you and how best to be there for your loved one, without losing yourself in the process.

Grief and Loss Counselling
Whether facing loss or living with the uncertainty of advanced illness, we offer support to process grief in its many forms — before, during, or after bereavement.

Communication and Decision Support
Sometimes it’s hard to talk with loved ones or your healthcare team. We can help you clarify what matters most to you and find the words to communicate it.

How We Work

Our approach is evidence-based, person-centred, and deeply human. Our training as a clinical and health psychologist with a special focus on psycho-oncology. Sessions are confidential, flexible (online or in-person where possible), and always tailored to you!
